In 2007 Mr. Firestone’s original Russian law firm exposed the largest tax fraud perpetrated against the Russian Government. During the last ten years Mr. Firestone has spent considerable effort advising on issues of how to effectively sanction dictatorships and kleptocracies and what to do with the frozen funds of kleptocratic regimes which belong to the people of their nations. In addition to advising clients on legal matters, Mr. Firestone is often retained to bring public and government attention to cases which would not be resolved fairly in the absence of such attention. Many of his cases involve multi-jurisdictional investigatory work, either to find assets or to get a clear picture of the real parties involved in a transaction. Mr. Firestone regularly publishes articles in both the foreign and Russian press. He has been featured on the BBC, Bloomberg, CBC, SKY, in several documentaries and on many radio stations such as Echo Moscow, Business FM, and Kommersant FM. He frequently advises on matters of litigation strategy business strategy, and risk. |
